The fabric team kicked off 2023 with a field trip! On January 10th, we hit the road for a tour of our projects across the city. We had a great time checking out the construction progress at each of our sites and took in some amazing views while we were at it!
First Stop: Habitat, Mount Pleasant
Our first stop was at Habitat, located in the popular Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, just a 5-minute walk from the brand-new Mount Pleasant Subway Station (currently under construction), Habitat is a mixed-use condominium project of 70 residences and 9 commercial units. Both residential and commercial components have been sold out for some time and construction is pushing towards completion this Spring. Check out the spectacular views from the common roof deck!
Second Stop: Left Field, Kensington Cedar Cottage
Next up was a stop by the site of our Left Field rental project. Located on the western edge of Clark Park, the renters of these 80 future rental homes will have an amazing back yard to play in! A central location in East Vancouver that is walkable to The Drive and rapid transit, Left Field will offer an exciting option for renters in the city. We can’t wait to break ground on Left Field later this quarter!
Third Stop: The Cut Presentation Centre, The Drive
Fabric’s newest project, The Cut, is a community Townhomes + Garden flats coming soon to the Trout Lake neighbourhood of East Vancouver. Our team visited The Cut Presentation Centre on The Drive to check out construction progress ahead of our project launch this Spring. The Presentation Centre is coming along nicely with some unique brand elements planned and we can’t wait to share this space with the public soon! Projects registrations are open at www.thecuteastvan.com.
Last Stop: Assembly
The rain held off for us as we headed to our last stop, Assembly, across from Admiral Seymour Elementary in Strathcona. Assembly is a creative mixed-use project consisting of commercial, below market housing and market townhomes surrounding a central courtyard. Construction is moving along at Assembly with completion anticipated towards the end of 2023. The team particularly enjoyed walking through the innovative mews which weaves throughout the commercial space on the ground level of the project and will showcase unique artwork by Canadian Artist Ola Volo. The views from the private rooftop terraces were excellent too!
Getting out of the office and visiting our projects in person was a great experience for the entire fabric team. We are passionate about our work and this is something you can feel on site. We are excited for our homeowners and future renters and can’t wait to welcome them home soon!
