fabric celebrates groundbreaking at Left Field

Fabric news, Project news

At the end of April, fabric celebrated the groundbreaking of Left Field, a purpose-built rental development in East Vancouver’s Cedar Cottage neighbourhood, just steps from Vancouver’s second oldest urban park, Clark Park. Kicking off the construction of Left Field’s 81 rental homes was an exciting milestone celebrated alongside consultants, investors, neighbors, family and friends.

In place of the traditional shovels breaking ground ceremony, fabric invited Author and Historian, Aaron Chapman to share from his collection of notorious stories detailing the gritty, fierce and eventful history of East Van in the 1970s, as written in his book The Last Gang in Town: The Epic Story of the Vancouver Police vs. the Clark Park Gang.

We would like to thank Vancouver City Councilor, Pete Fry for expressing his support and excitement for the project and we would also like to thank our Project Architect, Neil Robertson, for sharing a glimpse into the creation of a rental community with nature in mind.

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the celebration of this important milestone. We look forward to starting construction and adding some much-needed rental homes to the City of Vancouver.

A Letter to Clark Park
