In 2021, fabric acquired a 38,000 sq.ft., multi-tenant retail/office building strategically positioned on a 21,000 sq. ft. lot in the heart of one of East Vancouver’s most desirable neighbourhoods. Since its acquisition, fabric completed a comprehensive renovation, primarily focused on increasing efficiency of the building and an aesthetic brand refresh on this historical corner of Little Italy. 

After a neighbourhood discovery of Commercial Drive, (also known as The Drive), fabric identified key stories and themes that would best suit the brand of this building. Affiatata was selected as the name and brand for the building as a nod to the history and community of Commercial Drive. Culturally rich, authentic and spirited, The Drive is one of the best and most colourful shopping, dining and nightlife districts in Vancouver. Within the 8 official blocks of Vancouver’s “little Italy,” Affiatata honours over 60 years of Italian heritage. A community known for being ‘tight knit’ and extremely connected, Affiatata represents fabric’s vision of working closely with the communities that we develop in while paying tribute to the building’s tenants who are deeply rooted in the community as well.
