Last year we celebrated the completion of Habitat, a project that we delivered in collaboration with Porte Communities and Hudson Projects. Habitat is a four-story wood frame building located at the corner of E Broadway and Guelph St. in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of East Vancouver.
The Journey to Completion
Presales at Habitat began in the fall of 2020, right at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Habitat was the only presale project actively launching in Vancouver at the time. Despite the uncertainty, our team leveraged Habitat’s efficient urban one-bedroom units to offer 40 homes under $599,900. This achievable price point received an amazing response in the marketplace, allowing first-time homebuyers the opportunity to get their foot in the door and providing investors the opportunity to access well positioned product. Habitat sold out in Spring 2021 and residents moved in Spring 2023!



A Closer Look at Habitat
Habitat features 9 commercial spaces on the ground level, providing a variety of options for local businesses including a corner restaurant space designed to activate the laneway which was inspired by cool laneway culture experienced in other parts of the world. The upper floors house 70 residences ranging from urban one-bedroom units to three-bedroom homes with private roof top decks.
Notable amenities at Habitat include a co-work lounge, which was a timely offering given the shift to work from home during the pandemic. This co-work amenity space serves as an extension of the home – allowing residents with even the smallest square footage- to comfortably work all day without having to leave the building.
Habitat also features a unique open-air corridor leading to select penthouse residences on the fourth floor, and a spectacular rooftop deck designed for relaxation and socializing. The rooftop deck is equipped with catenary lighting, a BBQ and dining space, and a firepit lounge, all providing stunning views of the city and North Shore mountains.

One of Habitat’s significant advantages is its proximity to the future Mount Pleasant subway station, currently under construction at Main St. and E Broadway. This station which is just a 5 minute walk away from Habitat is expected to be operational by fall 2027 and will provide convenient transit to UBC with connections to all parts of the city.
