To begin, could you please introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Fabric?

My name is Saman, and I’m a project accountant at Fabric Living. I work on our development projects, handling day-to-day transactions and making sure everything runs smoothly from an accounting perspective.

Can you share a bit about your journey into real estate…was it a planned path, or something you discovered along the way?

After a few years in public practice, I knew I wanted to get into real estate and waited for the right opportunity. It took some time, but joining Fabric made it worth the wait, and I’m glad I made the move.

What is a personal or professional goal you’re currently working towards, and how do you see it benefiting your role here at Fabric?

I’m a preparatory student at Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada and working towards gaining my designation, which I believe will strengthen my skills and help me add even more value to my role and the team at Fabric. We are always looking to implement the highest control standards and use cutting-edge technology in our department, and following the CPA curriculum plays an enormous role in that.

How does your work as an accountant contribute to the bigger picture at the company?

Accounting is essential at Fabric Living. We provide precise, timely financial data that helps guide key decisions and keep projects on track.

What’s one of the more complex or interesting challenges you’ve tackled in your role recently?

Time management is crucial in my role. Financial data loses value if it’s not delivered on time, especially in fast-moving projects. Maintaining strong controls and implementing high standards can be challenging, but at Fabric, we leverage technology to help us stay ahead.

You’ve lived in a few different places around the world — what is it about Vancouver that you love?

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever lived in. I chose to be here for its stunning landscapes and the great work-life balance. People here prioritize a healthy lifestyle—there are cyclists, runners, and fitness studios everywhere. And in less than an hour, you can escape to gorgeous lakes and hiking trails.

Outside of your role at Fabric, how do you enjoy spending your free time?
