What do you do when the trophies you’ve won feel too corporate for the office vibe?
You turn them into art, naturally. 🚀

Created by K8L35 collaborators Kate MacDonald and Leslie Sears, RKT ASSMBLY transforms two Georgie Awards won for our Assembly development project into a playful monument to architecture, industrial design, and community.
At the centre of the work is the original architectural model of Assembly, reimagined in an extreme matte black using Stuart Semple’s Black 3.0, imported from the UK specifically for the project. Rising through the courtyard of the building are the two original trophies, their bases aligned beneath the model like rocket engines. Layers of vivid hot-pink acrylic drip from the trophies below, becoming exaggerated booster flames and turning the entire development into a structure poised for launch.
The rocket is both playful and purposeful. Assembly was conceived as more than a collection of homes and commercial workspace: it is infrastructure for connection, creativity, and the communities that form when people are given space to live, work, meet, and make things together. RKT ASSMBLY takes that idea literally, imagining architecture as a launch pad – a platform from which new relationships, ideas, businesses, and ways of living can take flight.

By dismantling and recombining symbols of architectural achievement with the model of the development itself, K8L35 shifts the emphasis from the award as an endpoint to the award as fuel: recognition of what has been built, but also energy for what comes next.
“The sky is the limit.”
